Kansas City man indicted in Prairie Village bank robbery

A 41-year-old Kansas City man was charged Thursday with robbing a credit union in Prairie Village last month.

A federal grand jury indicted Tarone Hollins, also known as Tarone Shipp, on one count of bank robbery. Prosecutors said that on Oct. 22 Hollins robbed the Community America Credit Union at 7620 State Line Road.

An affidavit in the case said that after photos from the robbery were made public, the FBI received 11 tips identifying Hollins as the robber. The tips came through the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers

If convicted, Hollins faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
