Blue Springs man sentenced to 40 years for producing porn involving toddler
A federal judge on Wednesday sentenced a Blue Springs man caught on a “nannycam” sexually abusing a young child to 40 years in prison for producing child pornography.
Jeffrey Laurence Treta, 47, was babysitting a 21-month-old toddler in January 2013 when a parental surveillance camera recorded him assaulting the child and using his cellphone to record it.
The homeowner later noticed the recording and gave it to authorities.
In February, Treta pleaded guilty to two counts of producing child porn, two counts of producing child obscenity, one count of possessing child porn and one count of obstructing justice for deleting images from his laptop minutes before police arrived at his residence.
