KC police identify man found shot to death at 57th and Oak streets

Police have identified a 23-year-old man found shot to death early Sunday at 57th and Oak streets as Jaque Dawkins of Kansas City.

Officers were summoned to the neighborhood about 2:30 a.m. after several people reported hearing gunshots and seeing a vehicle speed away. A burned vehicle was found nearby. Police have not determined whether it was connected to the shooting.

No information on a suspect was available.
