Excelsior Springs teenager charged with murder in shooting of former classmate
An Excelsior Springs teenager has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting of a former classmate last month in Kansas City, North.
A Clay County grand jury returned an indictment on Tuesday against Tristian A. Wilton, charged with second-degree murder and attempted robbery in an Oct. 14 homicide, according to court documents.
Wilton is charged in connection with the death of 18-year-old Tyler Eddington of Kansas City, who was found shot in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant in the 4000 block of North Oak Trafficway about 12:15 a.m.
Emergency crews took Eddington to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
The second-degree felony murder charge covers defendants who may not have pulled a trigger but were involved in a crime that resulted in a homicide.
Wilton was held at the Clay County jail Thursday night with bond set at $1 million.
Wilton and Eddington both graduated from Excelsior Springs High School this year.
