Olathe man is sentenced for fatal wreck
A 43-year-old Olathe man has been sentenced to nine years and nine months in prison for causing a fatal crash earlier this year.
Jeremy Claerhout was sentenced this week in Johnson County District Court, where a jury in August found him guilty of second-degree murder and reckless driving in the January death of 32-year-old Christopher Willdermood.
Willdermood was injured when a pickup truck driven by Claerhout crashed into the rear of his car at South Ridgeview Road and East Sheridan Bridge Lane in Olathe. Willdermood died later.
