FBI investigates bank robbery in Kansas City

The FBI investigated a bank robbery Tuesday in Kansas City and said a suspect was in custody.

The robbery was reported shortly before 5 p.m. at the Bank Midwest at 7904 Ward Parkway, the FBI said.

The robber showed a weapon and demanded cash before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.

Not far away, a suspect was stopped by a bank security guard and held by law enforcement Tuesday night.

A representative of the bank said that no one was harmed and that the bank would be open as usual after the Veterans Day holiday Wednesday.
