Man convicted of manslaughter in fatal Leavenworth County crash

A 20-year-old Topeka man was convicted of involuntary manslaughter Tuesday in the death of an Oskaloosa, Kan., man in Leavenworth County.

William Kelly III was intoxicated while driving with passenger Lee A. King, 25, at 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 6, 2013, near 251st Street and Ragtown Road. The vehicle left the road and overturned, partially ejecting King, who died of asphyxiation while trapped under the vehicle. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 30.
