Charges are filed in Kansas City stabbing death
Jackson County prosecutors have accused a 39-year-old Independence man of killing a 26-year-old Kansas City man on Nov 30.
Joel P. Suarez is charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Victor Albarran at a residence in the 5200 block of Scarritt Avenue. He is also charged with first-degree burglary and two counts of armed criminal action.
Court records allege that Suarez told a woman that he was going to kill Albarran. The records don’t indicate a motive.
Suarez drove to Albarran’s home, forced his way in and stabbed Albarran multiple times with a knife, court documents allege.
Investigators found blood in a bathtub and bloody clothing in Suarez’s apartment, according to the allegations.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $250,000.
