Man sentenced in stolen truck conspiracy

A Kansas City man was sentenced Monday to 21 years and 10 months in federal prison for his role in a scheme that involved stealing trucks and trailers and their cargo.

Kenneth Ray Borders, 43, was involved in the theft of five Freightliner trucks and 17 trailers from 2005 to 2011.

The men stole $125,000 worth of frozen ribs, nearly $60,000 in chicken wings and about 21,000 pounds of Little Sizzler sausages and Budweiser beer. Authorities say they sold the items cheaply to anyone who would buy it, sometimes out of the back of the trailer

Borders was ordered to pay nearly $1.3 million in restitution.

Still awaiting sentencing in the case is Jon Dirk Dickerson, 56, of Raytown, and his son, Kyle Wayne Dickerson, 32, of Holden, Mo.
