Kansas City police standoff ends peacefully
A standoff between Kansas City police and three robbery suspects ended peacefully Thursday evening.
Police had surrounded a house near 20th Street and Kensington Avenue after several robbery suspects reportedly refused to come outside.
Officers from the department’s Career Criminal Squad went to the home about 3 p.m. to arrest the suspects on felony warrants related to an armed robbery in Independence, but only a woman would come out of the house. Police arrested her because she had an outstanding warrants, said police Capt. Derek McCollum.
The standoff ended when the second of two men in the house surrendered about 7:15 p.m.
