Police ID woman killed in KCK parking lot

Police have identified a woman gunned down Sunday in a Kansas City, Kan., parking lot as 29-year-old Janet L. Billings of Bonner Springs.

Someone shot her about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in a Lowe’s store parking lot in the 6900 block of State Avenue.

A 28-year-old man whom police described as a “person of interest” in the case later turned himself in to police. He was booked into the Wyandotte County Jail about 5 p.m. Sunday.

Billings and the man knew each other, although police did not release information about the nature of their relationship.
