Police identify man found shot to death on a Kansas City sidewalk
A 24-year-old man found shot to death Oct. 15 in central Kansas City has been identified as Jose Angel Urias.
Officers responding to reports of gunfire found Urias on a sidewalk near 46th Street and Cleveland Avenue.
Police initially identified the victim as Abner Diaz-Fiugeroa, 29, but later learned through his relatives that was incorrect. Urias used identification that had belonged to Diaz-Fiugeroa, who is not deceased, police said.
Authorities had sought the public’s help in identifying the victim by releasing information on his six tattoos: “Filiberto” on his left wrist, “Ariel” on his right wrist, a rose on his upper right arm, “AV” on the back of his neck, “Dio non mi Meritano” on his chest and “Mi Resta sempre forte e sempre” on his left forearm.
