Kansas City man sent to prison in illegal gun case

A Kansas City man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for illegally trading in guns, including one used in a 2012 homicide.

Federal prosecutors said that Michael L. Bradford, also known as Derrick Lamont Brown, 30, was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court where he pleaded guilty earlier this year to two counts of being a felon in possession of firearms and one count of distributing PCP and marijuana.

One gun that Bradford sold to undercover police in November 2012 was later traced to the Oct. 30, 2012 killing of David Lablance, prosecutors said.
