Kansas City police investigate fatal shooting

Kansas City police are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting death inside a home in the 7400 block of Lydia Avenue.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was shot while in the living room, police said.

Five to seven people were in the home, including relatives of the victim who were upstairs at the time of the shooting, police said. One of them called police about 11 a.m.

Witnesses said the shooter fled in a white vehicle.

Family members held hands outside the home as police and crime scene investigators gathered evidence and talked to witnesses.
