Driver in fatal crash near Edgerton is identified

The driver who died earlier this week in a single-vehicle crash east of Edgerton in Johnson County has been identified as 65-year-old Arthur Lee Wright of Kansas City, Kan.

The crash was reported after Gardner police received calls about a motorist driving recklessly on Interstate 35. Officers were unable to pull over the vehicle, according to authorities. It crashed in the 35000 block of 199th Street, just east of Edgerton. Wright was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Johnson County sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation.
