Police identify Kansas City man found dead in Northeast area
A 61-year-old man whose body was found Friday near Independence and Askew avenues has been identified as Jim Knight of Kansas City.
Officers were called just before 5 p.m. Friday to the area of Askew and Independence avenues and found Knight unconscious and sprawled on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene after efforts to revive him.
It appeared that Knight had suffered a traumatic injury to his torso. The cause of death is being withheld. No arrests have been made.
