Officials investigate Clay County death

A man was found dead from a gunshot wound inside a Northland home Wednesday morning after a reported domestic dispute, the Clay County Sheriff’s Department said.

Officials learned of a dispute between a man and a woman about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday that involved the discharge of a firearm inside the home on North Virginia Avenue, but there were no injuries at that time.

Officials monitored the home all night and reported shortly after 7:30 a.m. that a man inside, later identified as 50-year-old John Frank, was dead. The sheriff’s department did not release any other details except to say that law enforcement officers did not shoot.
