Two people were injured, one critically, in an officer-involved shooting in Overland Park just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Overland Park police said members of the U.S. Marshals Service’s fugitive apprehension team were attempting to take a suspect into custody when the incident occurred in a parking lot near 105th Street and Metcalf Avenue. Police said no law enforcement officers were injured.

It was not clear if the suspect fired at officers or pulled a weapon. A spokesman for the Marshals Service did not immediately return a request for more information.

Two people were taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. One man was critically injured and a second person, who apparently was not shot, had a non-life-threatening injury. That person was treated and released from the hospital.
