Suspected intoxicated driver dies in crash in southwest Johnson County
A driver believed to have been intoxicated died early Wednesday in a crash east of Edgerton in rural Johnson County.
Gardner police received multiple reports of a possible drunken driver driving recklessly on Intestate 35, according to Johnson County Sheriff’s department.
Officers responding to the reports found the vehicle on I-35 near Gardner Road and observed the driver’s erratic behavior and made repeated attempts to stop the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s department.
The driver crashed in the 35000 block of 199th Street, just east of Edgerton. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s office is investigating the crash.
