Six former IRS workers guilty of unemployment fraud
Six former Internal Revenue Service employees have pleaded guilty to illegally receiving unemployment benefits while working for the government agency.
The six Kansas City-area residents entered guilty pleas on Tuesday and Wednesday to charges of stealing government funds by fraud. Between them, the defendants collected $66,030, according to federal prosecutors in Kansas City.
Those who pleaded guilty: Michelle Glavin, 32, Christopher Castillo, 34, Jesse Love, 61 and Tiffani Harding, 27, all of Kansas City; Shalonda Bradley, 41, of Grandview, and Berneta Weedin, 59, of Platte Woods.
Sentencing dates will be scheduled later.
