Lee’s Summit homicide victim identified
Lee’s Summit authorities on Monday identified a homicide victim found dead in a car early Sunday as Tanya L. Chamberlain, 43, of Lee’s Summit.
About 1:15 a.m. Sunday, a Lee’s Summit police officer pulled over a driver suspected of being intoxicated in the 500 block of Southeast Second Street. After the vehicle drove over a curb and into a grassy area of an apartment complex, two males ran from the vehicle. After a brief chase, the officer returned to the vehicle and discovered Chamberlain’s body in the passenger seat.
Lee’s Summit police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
