A reward for information leading to an arrest in the drive-by shooting death of a 10-year-old girl has increased to $7,000.

Machole J. Stewart, a Kansas City, Kan., fifth-grader, was killed the night of Oct. 26 when someone in a passing vehicle fired multiple shots into her family’s home in the 1400 block of New Jersey Avenue.

Machole was in the house with other family members at the time. She died at the scene.

No one else was hit, but bullets also damaged cars along a two-block stretch.

A donor recently contributed $5,000 to the previous reward offer.

Information can be given anonymously by calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
