Kansas City man receives 20-year sentence for kidnapping and robbery
A Jackson County judge sentenced a Kansas City man Friday to 20 years in prison for kidnapping and robbing two women after they left a 2011 Christmas party near Ninth and Washington streets.
Antonio C. Jackson, 30, allegedly ordered them at gunpoint to drive to a midtown ATM machine and withdraw $300.
A friend pulled up alongside the victims’ car and asked if everything was all right. He could not see the suspect in the back seat. After one victims gave him a worried look, he followed and sent a text asking the question again. She texted him back, “No, call cops.”
Police soon pulled the victims’ car over. As the car stopped, Jackson put his gun beneath a front seat and told the victims to say they knew him. Instead, they told police they were being robbed.
