Authorities investigate body found in burned portable restroom near Longview Lake
Jackson County authorities are investigating as a homicide the death of a man whose body was found Thursday night inside a burned portable restroom near Longview Lake.
The victim was identified Friday as 30-year-old Jackson Guzman of Shawnee.
A Jackson County park ranger discovered the body about 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Frank White Jr. Softball Complex, in the 3900 block of Southwest Longview Road in Lee’s Summit.
The remains were heavily charred.
Someone alerted authorities that the portable restroom was on fire.
