Man sentenced for Olathe beating death

An Olathe man was sentenced Thursday to seven years and eight months in prison for killing another man last year.

Brian Dale Pittman was sentenced in Johnson County District Court, where he pleaded no contest earlier this year and was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the death of 56-year-old Arthur W. Cattlett Jr.

Pittman, 45, was charged after Cattlett was found beaten to death in September 2013 inside the residence he and Pittman shared in the 16600 block of West 139th Street.
