A nurse accused of sexually assaulting four Kansas City, Kan., hospital patients was taken back into custody Thursday after a judge increased his bond.

Wyandotte County prosecutors requested the increase after amending charges originally filed last month against Dennis E. Clark, 47, of Gardner.

Clark, who has lost his nursing license, now is charged with rape in connection with incidents involving two patients this year at Providence Medical Center. He faces aggravated sexual battery charges in incidents involving two other patients.

Police in two Johnson County cities are investigating similar allegations at hospitals where Clark formerly worked, prosecutors said. Clark was the subject of indecent exposure allegations last year near Gardner, where he lived at the time. No charges have been filed in that case.
