A 19-year-old Shawnee man was charged Friday with robbing an Overland Park bank last month.
Federal prosecutors charged Mamoudou M. Kaba with the Sept. 22 armed holdup of the U.S. Bank at 9900 West 87th St.
Kaba has been in custody since Oct. 1, when he was arrested for violating conditions of his bond in a pending Johnson County case. He is charged in that case with aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
After the bank robbery, several tipsters identified Kaba as the robber after security camera photos were released to the public, according to court documents filed in federal court.

A search of his apartment turned up a gun that looked like the one used by the robber. Investigators also learned that Kaba had paid $1,000 in cash for a car a few days after the robbery, according to the documents.
