Police investigate stabbing, robberies of women in Kansas City
A woman was stabbed four times in the stomach by a robber early Wednesday as she walked to her vehicle after leaving a residence in the 5300 block of College Avenue, police said.
The incident happened about 5:30 a.m. The woman told police she was approached by a man wearing a black, zip-up jacket who grabbed her purse. The two struggled and the woman was stabbed three or four times.
The robber stole the woman’s cash and fled.
Police responded to the area but could not find the attacker. No detailed description of the man was available.
A similar robbery occurred late Monday in the 5300 block of Garfield Avenue. A woman told police she was jumped from behind by four men. One of the attackers hit the woman in the head with an unknown object and grabbed her purse. The attackers jumped into a dark-colored minivan and sped away.
Paramedics treated the woman for minor injuries to the side of her head and face. Police searched the area but could not find the attackers.
