Prison ordered for Olathe gun dealer who was found guilty of bribery

An Olathe gun dealer who bribed employees of a firearms manufacturer for preferential treatment was sentenced Monday to 18 months in federal prison.

John Sullivan Ralph III, who owned Global Guns & Hunting, Inc., doing business as OMB Guns, paid about $900,000 in bribes and kickbacks from 2003 to 2009 to two Glock employees, according to federal prosecutors in Kansas.

In exchange for the payments, the employees steered potential customers, including government agencies, to Ralph’s business and gave him priority access to limited products, according to the allegations.

Both Glock employees were also charged and are scheduled to be sentenced in November.
