Threat to ‘bash in’ lawyer’s head leads to federal charge

A Kansas man who allegedly threatened to “bash in” the head of a Kansas City lawyer was indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury.

Rick Draskovich, 52, of Ottawa, is charged with making the telephone threat on Aug. 31.

Officials did not identify the alleged victim.

According to the U.S. attorney’s office, Draskovich allegedly said, “I am about to go to the law firm and bash his … head in.”

He then suggested the lawyer get a restraining order, but he added it wouldn’t do any good, according to the indictment.

“Just by the time he even understands what’s happening, he’s going to get his head bashed in,” Draskovich allegedly said.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
