Driver in custody after striking KC police car and two other vehicles

A driver who ran from the scene of a traffic crash involving a Kansas City police car Friday afternoon was arrested after officers chased him into nearby woods.

Police reported that the driver struck two other vehicles before hitting the police car in the area of Bannister and James A. Reed roads.

Several ambulances were dispatched to the scene, but there was no immediate information about the extent of any injuries.
