U.S. Bank branch in Overland Park robbed

A man robbed an Overland Park bank early Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Overland Park police officers responded to the U.S. Bank at 9900 W. 87th St. just after noon.

Bank employees told officers that the robber, wearing a dark-colored stocking over his head, displayed a handgun while demanding money from a teller. The teller complied and the robber left the bank on foot.

No one was injured.

Witnesses said the robber, whom they described as a black man wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweat shirt, ran west from the bank on West 87th Street.

No injuries were reported.
