One dead, two injured in early Sunday shooting in Kansas City

One person was shot to death and two people received minor gunshot wounds early Sunday in Kansas City.

The incidents occurred about 12:30 a.m. near 57th Street and Troost Avenue. Police said one person was dead at the scene and one person was taken to a hospital. Later, a third victim arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

Police Chief Darryl Forté said several witnesses were cooperating with police.
