Merriam woman attacked in apartment complex parking lot

A stranger sexually assaulted a Merriam woman Thursday night outside an apartment complex in the 8800 block of 64th Terrace, according to police.

The woman was attacked in the parking lot of the apartment complex about 9:30 p.m. Police described the attacker as a white man between 35 and 39 years old, 5-foot-9 or 6 feet tall, with a stocky build, shaved head and short beard. He wore blue jeans and a white sleeveless shirt, police said.

He drove a large, blue 1990s-model sport utility vehicle that might have been a Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle had rust around the rear wheel wells.
