Another suspicious package left outside Wyandotte County Courthouse
For the second time in less than a week, a suspicious package has prompted authorities to shut down a street adjacent to the Wyandotte County Courthouse.
On Tuesday morning, a package and note were found on the hood of a government vehicle parked outside the courthouse in the 700 block of Ann Avenue.
The street was shut for several hours while authorities investigated the incident.
Last Wednesday, another package with an attached note was found near the same location inside of another government vehicle.
The Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office said that in both cases, no hazardous materials were found in the packages.
The note found on the package last week was addressed to the Wyandotte County district attorney. Tuesday’s note was not specifically addressed to anyone, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detectives are working to determine if the two cases are related.
