Armed robber confronts the clerk.

As one robber swung open the door to the Minute Stop convenience store in Overland Park, two others rushed in with their firearms drawn, surveillance video released Monday shows.

The robbery occurred about 12:50 p.m. Sunday at the store at 10395 Marty St.

The surveillance tape shows the robbers, armed with a handgun and what appears to be a rifle, demanding that the clerk move over to a cash register and empty it. The robbers kept their weapons pointed at the clerk as the clerk pulled money from the drawer and handed it to one of the robbers.

One of the robbers then rushed around the counter to check the register’s drawer. Meanwhile the third robber watched at the door. He grabbed an item from a cooler before he and the accomplices fled.

Police said the three male robbers took an undisclosed amount of cash along with some merchandise. They fled on foot west.

A complete description of the robbers was not immediately available; however, they wore long pants, sweatshirts and hats. They covered their faces with cloth.

Police released the surveillance video along with the photos in the hope that someone would recognize the robbers.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477) or Overland Park police at 913-344-8750.
