Police identify man and woman whose bodies were found inside Kansas City residence

The man and woman whose bodies were found at a house in the 2000 block of Van Brunt Boulevard have been identified by Kansas City police as Renitta Crutchfield, 35, and Leo Wagers, 33.

Police were called to the house and found the deceased couple and an unharmed baby inside. The cause of death was not apparent and police are investigating the deaths as suspicious.

Workers with the Missouri Department of Social Services arrived at the house for a scheduled visit. No one answered the door but workers heard a baby crying inside.

The residence did not have electrical power, and officers found a generator in the garage. Fire crews were later summoned to check the air quality.
