Man dies after being shot outside east Kansas City market
Kansas City police are investigating a shooting that left a young man dead late Thursday morning at a small grocery store near 24th Street and Brighton Avenue.
The man ran into the Hot Spot market about 11:30 a.m. seeking help after being shot outside the store, according to Sgt. Kari Thompson, a police spokeswoman. He died in the store.
A store neighbor reported hearing a rapid series of six to eight gunshots.
Police set up yellow crime scene tape outside the store.
