Two people were injured during a bank robbery Wednesday at the Bank of America at 95th Street and Mission Road in Overland Park.

Although police thought for some time that a robber might still be in the bank with hostages, that turned out not to be the case, officials said about 7 p.m.

The robbery occurred shortly before 5 p.m. when two men displayed weapons and used force inside the bank.

Two people inside the bank were transported to an area hospital for medical attention, although the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, law enforcement officials said.

The men fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash but were taken into custody shortly afterward.

One man was taken into custody by the Prairie Village Police Department, and a second man was taken into custody by the Overland Park and Leawood police departments.
