Four wounded in shooting at VFW in Columbia, Mo.

Four people have been shot and wounded at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Columbia.

Police say the shooting happened early Saturday after a disturbance began inside the building and spilled into the parking lot. Several shots then were fired from the parking lot toward the building, which was being rented for an event.

Police say a female victim was taken in an ambulance to a hospital and required emergency surgery. Two other female victims and a male victim also were taken to the hospital in private vehicles with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the building also sustained damaged.
