Ex-tech director for Lenexa pleads guilty to wire fraud

The former technology director for city government in Lenexa pleaded guilty Monday to federal wire fraud.

Andrew L. Davey, 44, admitted that while he worked for the city from 2010 to 2012, he purchased electronic items, such as iPads, computers, televisions and digital cameras, and gave them to friends, traded them for other items or sold them online.

Federal court in Kansas City, Kan., set sentencing for Jan. 20. Lawyers have agreed to recommend a sentence of a year and a day in prison and restitution of $103,677.
