Prosecutors have accused a 19-year-old Kansas City man in an August shooting that left the victim hospitalized and unresponsive with a bullet lodged in the middle of his brain.

Stacy C. Wooden-Gray on Wednesday was charged with first-degree assault in connection with the 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13 shooting in the 2400 block of Quincy Avenue.

Police found the wounded victim, Christopher Aderholt, in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle. A second victim had a cut to the head.

According to court records, Wooden-Gray fired several shots into the vehicle, causing it to crash.

Wooden-Gray told investigators he was present during the shooting but denied involvement, the records said.

He repeatedly asked investigators how long he could get for the shooting but also told them that “he helps people more than he hurts people.” He told them he once attacked a man who had robbed a girl because he wanted the man to know how it felt to get robbed, court records stated.
