Police are seeking the public’s help finding a metallic light blue Ford Crown Victoria involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident early Tuesday in Kansas City, Kan.

The car and its driver fled the scene after hitting Darrin M. Smith, 34, of Kansas City, Kan., as he walked near Third Street and Oakland Avenue about 1:15 a.m. Smith died at the scene.

The Crown Vic is described as a 2000 to 2006 model with black mirrors. It should have front-end driver’s-side damage, a broken or missing right headlight and a missing driver’s-side mirror, police said.

Investigators encourage anyone with information about the actual car involved in the incident to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
