Police investigate fatal shooting in Kansas City’s Northeast area

Kansas City police have identified a 19-year-old man found fatally shot to death early Tuesday at a residence in Kansas City’s Northeast area as DeAngelo A. Porchia.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly before 2 a.m. at a house in the 5200 block of St. John Avenue, across the street from Budd Park. When they arrived, they found Porchia on the front porch. He died a short time later.

Witnesses told police they heard several shots before they found Porchia wounded on the porch. Police, including crime scene investigators and detectives, remained at the scene collecting evidence later Tuesday morning.
