Cass County authorities arrested two fugitives Sunday who were wanted by authorities in Oklahoma.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip Sunday that the man a woman, who were wanted on felony drug warrants, had been seen walking in the 26000 block of Southeast Outer Road near Harrisonville.
Deputies saw the man enter a residence. They contacted the home’s owner, who said that an unknown man and woman had forced their way into the residence.
Deputies and Harrisonville police officers arrested Richard Z. Holliday and Sheryl A. Stewart, both 31.
Authorities released Stewart, who is wanted on a federal bank robbery warrant, to the U.S. Marshal Service.
Holliday was being held Monday in the Cass County Jail.
Two Cass County deputies suffered minor injuries when Holliday assaulted them during the arrest, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The deputies and Holliday received treatment at an area hospital.
Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers had warned area residents last week that the two fugitives could be in the Kansas City area.
