Police identify motorist killed Tuesday in Kansas City, North wreck
Kansas City police identified a 54-year-old woman killed Tuesday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident near Interstate 29 and Cookingham Drive as Cynthia R. Free of Agency, Mo.
Free was northbound near Kansas City International Airport about 4:30 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, which rolled through the grass median separating traffic lanes on the interstate. The vehicle plummeted onto Cookingham Road below, police reported.
Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle traveling north in the southbound lanes moments before it vaulted off the interstate.
Free died at the scene.
The accident remained under investigation Wednesday, police said.
