Man pleads guilty to carjacking in Kansas City, Kan.

A Kansas City, Kan., man pleaded guilty in federal court on Tuesday to carjacking a woman at gunpoint and pushing her out of her vehicle onto the road.

John Michael Devosha, 25, was already under federal indictment in another case when he wrecked a stolen pickup truck near 59th Street and Leavenworth Road on Oct. 22, 2013. He used the butt of a gun to break out the passenger window of a Cadillac that was stalled in traffic. He got into the car, pointed the gun at the woman driver and told her to drive away fast. He then pushed her out of the vehicle and drove off. The woman was injured in the fall.

Devosha was arrested three days later in Jackson County, Kan. A plea agreement calls for a sentence of 15 years in prison, consecutive to a 10-year sentence in the previous case.
