Overland Park police arrest four in scam involving fake World Series tickets

Overland Park police arrested four people suspected of selling or attempting to sell fake World Series tickets.

Three of the suspects are from New York and one is from the Atlanta area, police said.

Detectives began investigating Monday after they were contacted by a local ticket broker.

The broker said someone had visited the business trying to sell fake tickets to another person.

In their investigation, Overland Park detectives determined that the fake tickets were sold to other victims either in person or through Craigslist.

Police said they believe others may have been victimized by the ticket scam.

They ask anyone who believes they may have bought fake tickets to call Overland Park police at 913-895-6300.
