A man is facing two first-degree murder charges in a fatal shooting in Kansas City, Kansas, in May.

Dewayne Young faces two counts of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated robbery in the deaths of Briguel Perez, 17, and Luis Tejada-Ceballos, 18, according to a Wyandotte County charging document.

Officers with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department were called to the 1700 block of South 16th Street on reports of a shooting, according to a news release from Nancy Chartrand, a spokesperson for the department.

There, investigators found Perez and Tejada-Ceballos suffering from gunshot wounds, Chartrand said. They were both transported to an area hospital, where they later died.

Young is being held in the Wyandotte County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond, according to the jail’s inmate listing. He is set to appear for a hearing on July 28.
