Man injured in potential road rage shooting in Raytown, investigation ongoing

One man was injured Monday afternoon during what investigators believe to be a road rage incident in Raytown.

Officers with the Raytown Police Department were called to the area of East 55th Street and Blue Ridge Cutoff on reports of shots fired, according to a news release from the department.

There, investigators found a man, who had been shot, inside a crashed vehicle, the release said. He was transported to an area hospital, where he is in stable condition.

According to the police department, investigators learned the incident “may have stemmed from road rage.”

The other vehicle fled the scene before officers could arrive, the news release said.
